Profile and Contents

Ingeniería, Investigación y Tecnología aims at disseminating information and original and unpublished knowledge related to engineering in all areas. It is a forum open to academics, researchers, professionals and students from around the world, publishing articles in English and Spanish. Along its existence, the most representative authors publishing in the journal have been Miguel Ángel de Quevedo, Enzo Levy, Sotero Prieto, Alberto Dovalí Jaime, Javier Barros Sierra, Rodolfo Neri Vela, Gordana Jovanovic Dolecek, Sergey Ryvkin, Marco Antonio Murray Lasso, José Luis Fernández Zayas, Jaime Gonzalo Cervantes de Gortari and Rafael Almanza Salgado.

Target Public

The publication is the dissemination organ of Sociedad de la Escuela Nacional de Ingenieros. It is aimed at its members and professionals of this area.

History

Ingeniería, Investigación y Tecnología was first published in 1908 thanks to the initiative of a group of students pertaining to the Sociedad de Alumnos (Students’ Society) of the former Escuela Nacional de Ingenieros (National School of Engineering). In its Constitutive Act and regulations, the Students’ Society stated the need to seek for improvement for the institution regarding dissemination. In the beginning, the publication was rated as a newspaper, turning into a journal thereafter. According to the fourth statute, the publication encourages the intellectual development of its members. It is also stated that it publishes scientific and literary lectures by specialists of any branch of engineering, and tries to give regular continuity to the work of greater importance being broadcasted by national and foreign engineers.
Ingeniería, Investigación y Tecnología’s quality enables it to be an excellence rated refereed scientific and technological journal.

Achievements and Awards

The continuous process of certification that the magazine is subject to for obtaining certifications by national and international arbitrators, has allowed for its greater physical and electronic visibility. The latter is manifest by some indexes recording bibliometric visits throughout Latin America, as well as by establishing comparisons with other prestigious publications.
